Abstracts

We invite high-quality abstracts describing original work in clinical electrophysiology of vision, from basic research through clinical application. Abstracts submitted should clearly state the purpose or background of the study; describe the methods used; report the data thus obtained; and summarize the conclusions and implications of the work. Please submit a structured abstract (with sections Purpose, Methods, Results, Conclusion).

We also welcome case reports for the Clinical Cases session. Please indicate on the Abstract Submission form if you would like to present a case report. The title may be entered on the form or submitted later by email. If not obvious from the title, please provide a brief comment on the type of disease or test (to help the organizers arrange the session). An abstract is not required.

Requirements for abstract submission

• An abstract must be submitted with the intention that, if accepted, it will be presented by the first (submitting) author.
• An author whose abstract has been accepted is required to register for and attend the meeting and make the presentation.

• An individual may submit more than one abstract but is permitted to give only one oral presentation.
• There is no limit to the number of abstracts on which an individual may be a co-author.
• If an abstract is accepted for presentation, the work presented must be the same as that described in the abstract, with the same title and content.
• Authors must disclose all commercial relationships.

Presentation guidelines

Detailed guidelines/instructions and poster board dimensions will be provided when abstract acceptance notifications are sent. Brief guidelines are given below.

Oral presentations

Time slots are 15 minutes. Presentation duration should be 12 minutes maximum, leaving at least 3 minutes for discussion.

Posters

Presenters are expected to be present their poster boards during the poster session. Posters should be laid out using the main headings in the abstract: Purpose, Methods, Results, and Conclusion. For legibility, a minimum font size of 28 points and a maximum of 600 words are recommended.

Poster board dimensions: 119 cm high x 84 cm wide (47 x 33 in) (page orientation portrait, not landscape).

Clinical Cases

The Clinical Case session is a forum for sharing interesting, unusual, or challenging clinical cases (not for presenting papers). Thus, only single cases will be accepted.

To encourage discussion, presentation duration should be 2–3 minutes maximum with no more than 8 slides.

Note: A clinical case may be submitted in addition to a regular talk or poster. It is not considered a full presentation for purposes of recognition or qualification for a travel grant or the Dodt Award.
